HIR KEMMYNS - BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS

Please read our terms and conditions before booking. 

Arrival and Departure -

Check in is from 4pm. If you arrive earlier, you are welcome to leave your car and bags with us. Please contact us to make arrangements. If you anticipate arriving after 10pm, please get in touch so we can organise late check in. 

Check out is by 11am on the morning of departure. 

Reservations - 

To secure your booking, we require a deposit for the value of the first night of your stay. We can take card payment over the phone, or bank transfer. Once we have received your deposit we will send you a full booking confirmation email.

The balance for stays of 3 nights or less is due on departure. For stays of 4 nights or more, we do please ask for the balance on arrival. We accept card, cash, or immediate (BACS) bank transfer. Sorry we do not accept cheques.

Cancellation - 

In the event you need to cancel your booking, we ask for a minimum of 28 days notice so we can issue you a full refund of your deposit. If you cancel within 28 days of your booked stay, we reserve the right to retain your deposit. In the case of a no show, we will retain your deposit. We ask for your understanding on this; we are a small business and cancellations have a big impact on us because it's likely we will have turned other potential guests away. 

Should it become necessary for us to cancel a booking, we will contact you immediately and any payments made to us will be refunded in full straight away. In this instance we will give you as much assistance as we are able to find alternative accommodation in the area. 

Breakfast - 

Continental breakfast (as detailed on the breakfast page of our website) is included in the cost of your stay. We do our best to cater for all dietary requirements; please let us know when you book if you have any specific requirements relevant for a continental breakfast. 

Car Parking - 

We offer guest parking clearly signposted in our driveway. Please park considerately.

Electric Car Charging - 

We have a 16 amp ECV point on the front of the house. Please park to the right of the front door if you wish to use it. You will need to supply your own charging lead. 

Accessibility - 

Both our guest rooms are on the ground floor. There is step-free access (over a small ledge at the front door) from the drive. The patio doors are both one step down onto the patio. All doorways are 80cm wide. The en suite bathrooms have step over bath with overhead shower. Breakfast is usually taken upstairs in the dining room, unless it's a warm sunny day in which case you are very welcome to take it on your private patio. Please contact us if you need more information, we will be very happy to help. 

Damage - 

This is our dream house, and our family home, please respect it! You are liable for any breakages or damages you cause to the accommodation and its contents. Please report them to us asap, especially if you spill something; spillages are much easier to clean if we deal with them early. We don't normally charge for breakages, unless the charge for repair or replacement is significant (e.g. a mattress, item of furniture, or bathroom suite). We have wooden floors throughout the house so please do not wear stiletto heels indoors. Please use the luggage rack provided in your room to save putting dirty suitcases on the white sheets. Please remove make-up before going to bed to avoid staining the sheets. Please do not take our white bath towels to the beach; there are beach towels supplied in your cupboard.

Missing Items - 

We will charge you for any items missing from the accommodation on your departure. 

Septic Tank - 

We have our own private drainage system. Please do not flush anything other than toilet paper down the loo. Anything else may block our septic tank. We provide sanitary disposal bags for other waste, please use them. 

Smoking and Vaping-

We have a 100% no smoking and no vaping policy at Hir Kemmyns. We ask that you do not smoke or vape anywhere on the premises, including outside. Guests who ignore this will be asked to leave immediately, and will be liable for the cost of deep cleaning any rooms contaminated with smoke, as well as the cost of any remaining nights of their stay. 

Keys - 

On arrival you will be given a set of keys to your room, including your patio door, for the duration of your stay. Please look after them. Lost keys will be charged at £10 per set.

Pets - 

Regrettably we do not accept pets. Well behaved assistance dogs are welcome. 

Visitors - 

We ask that guests do not bring additional visitors back to their room. Absolutely no parties. 

Noise - 

We ask that guests are respectful of their fellow guests, as well as our family. Please be quiet returning late at night. Please keep your tv and radio at reasonable volumes so they cannot be heard in neighbouring rooms. 

Liability - 

We do not accept any liability for damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions whilst on our premises, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves.
